Permiere is annoying in many ways, and as an editing platform doesn't hold a candle to MC, but its titler, even ten years ago, was light years ahead: powerful, flexible (you can create everything from simple placeholders to cheesy, glossy 80s-inspired extrued text with glows and highlights), intuitive and easy to use, and seamlessly integrated into media management.Ī platform as powerful as Media Composer should have a robust and reliable integrated titling capability without having to rely on 3rd-party plugins with proprietary UIs.
Sorry to bring up the chief competitor, but put aside company loyalty for a second and just examine their implementation of the capability from an objective standpoint.

It just needed to have layout and design features expanded and some of the media management funkiness addressed, namely that one should be able to edit a title from a bin, save it back to itself (without creating new media), and have the change reflected on all instances of that title on the timeline. UI, implementation, reliability, features, workflow. What's wrong with Titler+? Literally everything. The Extra-Terrestrial" game cartrige for the Atari 2600 (yes I had it, it was a present, don't me). Titler+ is probably one of the worst pieces of software I have ever encountered.
